Many cases of headaches and migraines are caused by what we call ‘trigger points’ in certain muscles that relate to the head and neck. Trigger points are hyper-sensitive taut bands of fibres within neck muscles which can refer pain into the head. The video below gives you a visual explanation of trigger points and the location each muscle in the neck can refer pain to. It also shows how our specialist treatment device can help diffuse these trigger points and subsequently reduce your headaches and migraines.
Our specialist treatment device is called Indiba, which is a form of TECAR Therapy. This involves the use of a gentle probe massaged over your neck muscles and trigger points. It is a very pleasant and soothing sensation. The probe sends a gentle radiofrequency wave into the muscle which helps to dissolve the knots and trigger points, alongside release tension in all your neck muscles in a more powerful way than a massage or osteopathic treatment would do.
